Liberal Democrats are now the third-biggest party in the House of Commons.
More than three-and-a-half million people voted Liberal Democrat in this election.

Stephen Lloyd, the former LibDem MP for Eastbourne has kindly agreed to be our guest speaker. Stephen was the MP for Eastbourne from 2010 to 2015 and 2017 to 2019. His front bench roles included Liberal Democrat spokesperson for Northern Ireland, the DWP and in the coalition government, as PPS to the Environment Secretary.

Liberal Democrats Claim Laurels as Lead Remain Party in Hastings & Rye
Local Liberal Democrats joyfully took to social media on Sunday evening as the results for the European elections came in. Neck and neck with the Green Party in the Hastings only counting area, the Lib Dems won a clear second place in Rother District - four of whose wards are included in the Hastings & Rye parliamentary seat.
Vince Cable is Standing Down as Liberal Democrat Leader
Able Cable As previously announced, Vince Cable is standing down as Liberal Democrat leader, ending his time on an unexpected high. Not only brilliant local election results but also - if the polls are right - with the Liberal Democrats outpolling the Conservatives in a national election for the first time since 1906 (insert joke about how that is before even Vince was born). Perhaps even also outpolling Labour.
