John Tunbridge campaigns for a new roundabout at Elphinstone/Ridge junction

15 Nov 2009

The Liberal Democrat prospective Councillor for St Helens Ward is organising and collating a petition so that a mini roundabout can be installed at this very awkward junction.

John Tunbridge said "The junction is often the site of bumps and knocks. It's dangerous for cars and pedestrians alike. Not only do we need a roundabout, but we need pedestrian islands on The Ridge to protect those people who wish to visit the cemetery from the opposite side of the road. This junction is an accident waiting to happen."

"Cllr Lock is the Cabinet Member for Transport & Environment at the County Council. My question is: 'Why hasn't he sorted this before now?'"
